Every night in Sofia, a curtain goes up. We want you to find yours.

Because theatre happens tonight. Every day, dozens of performances play in Sofia – premieres and productions that have run for years, classics and new writing, grand stages and small rooms. Many of them pass without us ever knowing they were there.

Each theatre's programme lives on its own website – with its own look, its own order and its own way to a ticket. To find out what was on tonight, you had to open ten tabs. We wanted one place to see it all at once, so you spend less time searching and more time in the auditorium.

We believe theatre is one of the most alive things a city has. It can't be rewound, paused or played again – it happens once, tonight, for the people in the room. We want more people to be there.

For now, here is the programme of 12 theatres in Sofia. We are adding more.

• Théatro
• Zad Kanala Little City Theatre
• Ivan Vazov National Theatre
• Stefan Makedonski National Music Theatre
• Aleko Konstantinov Satire Theatre
• Sofia Puppet Theatre
• Sfumato Theatre Workshop
• Theatre 199 Valentin Stoychev
• Theatre of the Bulgarian Army
• Vazrazhdane Theatre
• Sofia Theatre
• Salza i Smyah Theatre
